Welcome to ELEMENTAL Psychotherapy

Welcome, I am Michele Gardiner, a registered Canadian Certified Counsellor and Psychotherapist (C.C.C.) and founder of ELEMENTAL Psychotherapy, a private therapy practice dedicated to supporting people through the sustained recovery from
Anxiety Disorders, Addictions, Eating Disorders, Trauma & Concurrent Mental Health including:
- • Anxiety Disorders, Body Image Issues (NBI, BDD), Perfectionism, & Life Transitions
- • Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia, Chew & Spit, Emotional/Compulsive Overeating, Restrictive Eating
- • Depression/Mood Disorders, Dissociation, Low Self-Esteem/Worth, & Identity Struggles
- • Attachment, Trauma (CPTSD), Relationship and Interpersonal Struggles
- • Caregiver Support in Eating Disorder Recovery
- • Clinical Supervision
Located in a private setting of Summerland, BC, I offer compassionate, confidential, person-centred therapy with 17-years'
of clinical counselling experience, extensive training in my areas of practice and application of Evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, EFT/EFFT, EMDR, MI, and Somatic Regulation and Embodiment Therapy augmented by
Expressive Arts, Nature, Mindfulness-based, and Intuitive Eating Therapies.
When working together to process trauma and other distressing memories, emotions, and sensations, I apply a non-activating EMDR application called FLASH Technique. This gentle technique is safe and easy and does not require you to tell your story -
creating a safe and gentle space is essential to processing distressing experiences.
As a Humanistic therapist, I apply an Attachment-based and Trauma-Informed lens, and greet each individual from a place of collaboration, compassion, and nonjudgement to promote a
safe and inclusive therapeutic space that builds on your existing strengths and wisdom, while nurturing new hopes, healthier
coping skills, balance, and a more resilient, authentic sense of Self that aligns with your core values and goals for life and living.
Honouring you as a unique and knowing individual is a core principle reflected at ELEMENTAL Psychotherapy through
the perspective that, as human beings, our unique thoughts, feelings, beliefs and experiences provide us with an inner wisdom that is both empowering and elemental to our process of creating meaningful and sustainable change.
I Offer Counselling Services and A Free 30-minute Phone Consultation
Individuals, aged-16 and over, can self-refer or be referred by a trusted Health Professional.
In recovering from an eating disorder, it can be helpful to include your GP and RD in the process so we can support you together.
